Ossett District Camera Club Welcomes You

First Guest Speaker - Thursday 18th September

John Bolloten

All welcome - including non-members so come along to the meeting - just £4 on the night

John Bolloten is a documentary photographer based in Bradford, UK celebrated for his compelling and unfiltered exploration of social and cultural issues. His work is deeply rooted in capturing the raw realities of marginalised communities, often focusing on themes like addiction, poverty, and urban life.

Bolloten's approach is characterized by his intimate connection with his subjects, enabling him to portray their lives with authenticity and empathy. Through his lens, Bolloten sheds light on overlooked narratives, using photography as a powerful medium for social commentary and change. His photography doesn't just document—it challenges viewers to confront uncomfortable truths and recognise shared humanity.

Presidents Message

I am looking forward to starting my second year as Club President and looking forward to this year being as successful as last year.
Membership has increased with more members entering competitions and with a wider range of winners than in previous years. We attracted new members through our recruitment drive and we intend that to continue into this year.
We have enjoyed a wide range of experienced speakers and practical training events, and once again we intend to build on that success which we think can be demonstrated in the 2025 – 2026 club programme of events.
Later in 2025 we will be staging our first Photographic Exhibition to celebrate the club's 70th anniversary.
We hope to attract a large number of visitors and introduce photography to the wider community.
So, for anyone looking to start their photography journey or anyone wanting to improve and to simply learn in the company of a friendly group of people then come along and speak to us either in person or drop a message in the contact form below and we'll give you a call.

.Ian Wiper, President, ODCC.
